The 149th birth anniversary of Bharatha Kesari Padmabhushan Mannathu Padmanabhan, founder of the Nair Service Society (NSS), was commemorated with reverence and enthusiasm by the Bhopal Nair Samaj (BNS) at Mannam Bhawan, Sree Mannam Khajurikalan Road, Piplani, Bhopal on Friday evening (2.1.2026). 

The celebrations began with the offering of floral tributes at the statue of Mannathu Padmanabhan, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and prayers. 

Addressing the gathering, BNS President Shri AG Vallabhan highlighted the monumental contributions of Acharya Mannathu Padmanabhan in reforming society and liberating the Nair community from deep-rooted superstitions. He emphasized that Mannathu Padmanabhan’s tireless efforts transformed the community into a progressive welfare-oriented society, enabling it to remain relevant in changing times.

BNS General Secretary Shri K.K. Vijayakumaran presented an overview of the various social, cultural, and community welfare activities regularly undertaken by the Samaj, reaffirming its commitment to the ideals of its founder.

During the celebration Senior Citizens were felicitated.

The event concluded with a series of vibrant cultural programmes presented by members of the community, adding colour and enthusiasm to the commemorative evening.
